April is another one of the founding members of Highland Fusion. Her Scottish heritage is what inspired her to begin competitive Highland Dancing at the age of seven. In 2001 April was a representative for the Western Region at the National Highland Dance Championships.

Like several of the other members of Highland Fusion, April was also a member of the Cameron Highlanders Pipe Band for many years. Besides Highland Dance, April is also an accomplished clarinet player with a Masters degree in music. Currently April subs with Michael Bolton (performing on sax, flute and vocals) and subs with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and Symphony (clarinet). April spends a majority of her time in LA teaching master classes at APU and attending the University’s “Artist Certificate” program.

 Before returning to APU, April was on a nine-month national tour with a show called Blast II: Shockwave, and later on a several-month run in London when the show moved there as CyberJam the Show. Last year she finished up a tour in Japan with the next generation of the show, Blast II: Music in Extreme. The shows incorporate instrumental music with dance and brings together April's loves of dance and music. Her years of performing and choreographing with Highland Fusion was a great preparation for this off-Broadway show.
